This art collection is a collaboration with the Latin American Youth Program at the Britannia Community Centre. Its purpose is to celebrate and showcase the vibrant essence of Latino culture, as seen through the eyes of young people navigating life in Canadian society.
Through this collection, the youth explore themes such as identity, belonging, and the blending of traditions, reflecting how their cultural heritage intersects with their experiences in a multicultural environment. Each piece represents a personal story, perspective, or emotion, expressed through a variety of artistic techniques, including painting, photography, and mixed media.
This initiative not only highlights the creativity and talent of the participants but also serves as a bridge between cultures, encouraging dialogue and fostering a sense of community. It’s a testament to how art can be a powerful tool for self-expression and connection, transcending borders, and generations.

Typewriter Tales - Community Project by Paul Luther
A community story writing project that brings community together in the act of creating a story together, one line at a time. Imaginations are sparked, secrets are shared, tales of the heart spoken, voices heard. Everyone is invited to participate. Everyone has a voice. On September 11, 2024, a manual typewriter was brought to Napier Greenway, and community members were invited to add a line or two to the story. Together we created a Peace Tale. Planted along the ocean’s edge; yearning for mobility, connection and belonging. The shoreline becomes a place for dreaming about land without constructed borders; between departure and remaining, soil and seawater, immobile and free flowing.
