Off the Grill Youth Meal Program

Off the Grill engages youth in the preparation, serving, and eating of healthy food to improve their nutrition levels and healthy eating awareness. The program brings food to where the youth gather creating a space for positive connections between youth, community members, and youth workers by sharing food together.

This program is working to support a group of at-risk youth at the Britannia Community Centre. Food is also served to the community at an affordable price thereby helping to sustain the program. A healthy communal dinner program will provide an important anchor with the aim to improve both health outcomes among these youth and positive engagement with the community, along with recreation, educational and service providers through a place-based inter-sectoral approach, filling several gaps in the lives of at-risk youth.
